Preschool 2026/2027 Age Requirements & FAQs

Tiddlywinks (18 months–2 years)
TW Caterpillars: Must be 18 months by August 25, 2026 and no older than 23 months as of December 31, 2026
TW Butterflies: Must be 24 months by August 17, 2026 and no older than 3 years as of September 1, 2026
 
Skipping Stones (2.9–3.8 years)
Must be 2 years 9 months by August 17, 2026 and no older than 4 years as of December 31, 2026

Hillside Playschool (3.8–4.5 years)
Must be 3 years 8 months by August 17, 2026 and no older than 5 years as of December 31, 2026

Pre-K (4–5 years)
Must be 4 years by August 17, 2026 or does not turn 6 years before December 31, 2026

Preschool Deposit & Tuition Rates

Tuition is based on a$19.75/hour rate*, broken down into monthly installments, and adjusted for holiday closures and other program breaks. A $500 deposit is due at the time of enrollment and is applied to your first month's tuition.

* Monthly tuition based on sample 4-week month. Preschool open enrollment occurs prior to adoption of the City's annual budget. Updated hourly rates will take effect on July 1, 2026.

Preschool School Year Forms

Each year before the start of new school year, families will receive an electronic Preschool Welcome Packet*. Completion of the following forms is required as a part of the enrollment process.

• Participant Intake Form (available in July via CommunityPass)
• Parent Handbook Agreement Form
• Immunization Form (personal physician summary report also accepted)
• Medication Parent Consent Form (if applicable)
• Epi-Pen Care Plan and Consent Form (if applicable)
