We solicit community feedback on City projects policies, and programs on Engage Piedmont, the City's official online forum for civic engagement. Officials use this site to post surveys, questions, and other opportunity to shape the City's work.

Volunteer

Piedmont is known as the "city of volunteers." From organizing the annual special events that bring our community together, to supporting our Recreation programming, to serving in elected or appointed office, it is our community volunteers who make Piedmont the special place we all love.

Upcoming volunteer opportunities will be posted on this page. Check back, or subscribe to City of Piedmont eNews to stay informed about new chances to volunteer.

Serve on a Commissions or Committee

Piedmont has eight standing Commissions and Committees who provide valuable input to staff and City Council on topics ranging from day-to-day operations to new policy.

Applications to fill vacancies on Commissions and Committees open every spring. The City Council appoints residents to terms which are genelly three years in length. Learn more about serving on a Commission or Committee.

Commission and Committee meetings are open to the public. Agendas are published on the Committee webpage in advance of each meeting. Community members are welcome to attend meetings and speak on agenda items.

Run for Office

Piedmont's City Council and School Board are made up of volunteers.

Elections are held in November on even-numbered years. Members of the City Council and School Board are elected at-large for four-year terms.

If you're interested in running for an elected office, contact the City Clerk's office at [email protected] for more information.
