Sign up for AC Alert emergency notifications – or confirm your AC Alert registration information – by October 15 for a chance to win one of three $100 gift cards to Ace Hardware.

Registering for AC Alert is the single most important step every resident should take to be prepared for a disaster. In an earthquake, wildfire, or other emergency, Piedmont and Alameda County safety officials will use AC Alert to provide instructions on what to do to protect yourself by phone, text, and email. This includes:

  • Evacuation orders and warnings
  • Shelters and service sites during an emergency
  • Shelter-in-place instructions
  • Other public safety incidents where lives may be at risk

Safety officials may also use AC Alert to share information on topics like road closures, red flag warnings, or significant weather forecasts. These non-urgent alerts are sent by email only.

AC Alert is an opt-in system. If you’re not signed up, you will not receive these vital alerts.

Piedmont sign-up drive: enter to win a $100 gift card to Ace Hardware

For National Preparedness Month, the Piedmont Fire Department is sponsoring an AC Alert sign-up drive for community members. Participants will be entered into a raffle to win one of three $100 gift cards to Ace Hardware. To enter:

  1. Visit ACAlert.org to register or confirm your AC Alert subscription.
  2. Add your home, work (if in Alameda County), and children’s school addresses to your alert locations. In an emergency, safety officials target alerts to the geographic area impacted by the event. Registering each addresses in Alameda County where you or your family members spend significant time is the best way to ensure you get timely and relevant notifications.
  3. Take a screenshot or photo of your profile page showing that you’re registered with a Piedmont address.
  4. Submit your proof of registration online at piedmont.ca.gov/ACAlertRaffle by October 15, 2024.

Raffle winners will be notified by email after the sign-up drive ends.
