Share feedback on Fire Department’s community wildfire evacuation exercise

Published June 16, 2025

The Piedmont Fire Department wants your feedback on our June 14 community wildfire evacuation exercise.

Share your feedback

Whether you participated in the practical exercise for the Blair/Scenic/Alta neighborhood, completed the at-home exercise with your family, or did not participate in either, we want to know:

  • If you received the “THIS IS A DRILL” AC Alert notification on Saturday morning
  • How well the activity helped you think through your own evacuation planning
  • What, if any, actions the exercise prompted you to take
  • What was confusing or didn’t work well
  • What types of preparedness programs, resources, or activities you would like to see in the future

The feedback survey is available online at piedmont.ca.gov/WildfireSurvey.

Everyone encouraged to complete at-home activity

The at-home evacuation activity that was developed for the June 14 exercise will remain available on the City’s website at piedmont.ca.gov/wildfiredrill. The Fire Department encourages those who were not able to participate this weekend to plan a time to complete the exercise soon.

The at-home activity is designed for families, housemates, or neighbors to complete together. A short video guides you through:

  • A realistic, local wildfire scenario based on conditions in Piedmont
  • Simple, pause-and-discuss prompts for each phase of evacuation
  • A printable worksheet to help your household plan and reflect
  • A calm, supportive narrator to walk you through the process

Plan about 30 to 45 minutes to complete the exercise.
