Wireless Facilities: All You Need to Know
Posted on 08/01/2018
The issue of wireless communication facilities is of great interest to the community. The City has created the Wireless Communication Facilities page on our web site to provide updated information to residents on this important topic. The page will be updated as new information becomes available on this important topic and contains information on the process in general as well as selected past applications.

On July 9, 2019, Crown Castle NG West LLC submitted applications to build 19 small wireless communication facilities within the public right-of-way on utility poles and street lights and one facility within Piedmont Park near the entrance on Wildwood Avenue. The proposals include antennas and telecommunications equipment mounted on poles and inside ground-mounted cabinets along residential streets. At this time, the applications filed by Crown Castle on July 9, 2019 have not been scheduled for public hearing. They were deemed incomplete by City staff due to missing and incomplete information in the applications. Crown Castle must respond to the City’s determination. Once they do so, the applications will be scheduled for hearing. The City will send a public hearing notice and makes residents aware of the hearing dates using all available communication channels.
